DET has developed a family of Thermionic Ceramic Ion Sources with work functions ranging from low to high. These are used at various surface temperatures in the range of 300 to 1000o C, and in various inert, oxidizing, or combustive gas environments to achieve multiple modes of selective chemical detection.

DET ion sources are designed for use in hardware that positions the ion source on the axis of an ion collector cylinder.
